Position Summary: Handyman Technician Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Handyman Technician Assistant to join our small handyman team. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in various home remodel, maintenance and repair tasks.  As a technician assistant, you will work closely with experienced technicians to learn the skills necessary for a successful career in the home services industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside experienced handyman technicians to learn and perform maintenance, repair, and construction tasks
  • Gather materials and take job debris to the landfill at least once a week or when the vehicle / trailer is full
  • Help keep service vehicles organized, clean and stocked with supplies
  • Participate in on-the-job training and educational opportunities to gain practical knowledge and skills related to carpentry, painting, and general home maintenance
  • Observe and learn how to interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner while under the guidance of experienced team members
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others

Qualifications

  • Willingness to work as part of a team and take direction from experienced technicians
  • Interest in and aptitude for working with tools and performing hands-on tasks
  • Basic communication skills to interact with team members and customers
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying materials and equipment
  • Willingness to work outside in all types of weather
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • No construction, carpentry and other home repair services experience is required, but is a plus
  • Experience driving and backing up trailers (or willingness to learn)

Compensation

  • Starting pay of $18/hr during 30 day probationary period
  • After probationary period, pay ranging $20 – $25 per hour based on experience
  • Major Holidays off
  • Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm work schedule
